Biography

André Desvages was a cyclist who competed in the team time trial at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Desvages won two stages at the 1965 Peace Race and one in 1966 and won the 1965 Paris-Troyes race before turning professional. He had a short pro career, from 1967-70, marked by a win in Stage 5A at the 1968 Tour de France. Desvages rode with Peugeot from 1967-69 and was then with Frimatic-De Gribaldy in 1970. He later became a technical director with the Gitane team, and was responsible for signing Bernard Hinault.
