Biography

Heriberto Díaz was a Mexican cyclist who was active during the 1960s. After a good performance at the 1964 Vuelta de la Juventud Mexicana, including winning stage 10, Díaz was selected to compete in the road race at the Tokyo Olympics. He continued to ride in races in Mexico over the next few years before winning bronze in the road race at the 1967 Pan American Games in Winnipeg. The following year he returned to the Olympics for his home Games in Mexico City, riding in both the road race and the 4,000 metres team pursuit on the track. That same year Díaz also won the third stage of the Vuelta a Cuba, before riding in the Peace Race in Europe in 1969.
