Tunisia made its début at the Olympics at the 1960 Games in Roma with the nation sending a delegation of 42 athletes. Mohamed El-Kemissi was one of four cyclists who competed in both the individual road race and the 100 kilometres team time trial. Whilst El-Kemissi failed to finish in the former, Tunisia did manage to finish 27th out of the 32 teams that competed in the latter.
