In 1972 Cameroon sent a delegation of 11 athletes to the München Olympics. Joseph Evouna was one of four cyclists chosen to represent the nation. Whilst he did not finish in the road race, Evouna did place 33rd in the team time trial with his compatriots. Eight years later he competed in the road race at the Moskva Olympics, but again did not finish the course. Evouna later served as the technical director of the Cameroon Cycling Federation.
