Biography

During the 1960s and 1970s Eritrean cyclist Fisihasion Ghebreyesus represented Ethiopia at three Olympic Games. In 1964 Ethiopia sent a delegation of 12 athletes to the Tokyo Games, with Ghebreyesus being one of the four cyclists to represent the nation. He competed in both the individual road race and the 100 kilometres team time trial, finishing 26th in the latter. Four years later the Ethiopian quartet repeated the result in the team time trial, once again placing 26th at the Mexico City Games. Ghebreyesus made his third and final appearance at the Olympics in 1972, this time finishing 28th in the team time trial at the München Games.
