Hans Gilgen rode the team pursuit for Switzerland at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. He was born near, and lived most of his life, in Bern. Gilgen rode for Veloclubs Basilisk. He won five Swiss titles, four on the track (1931, 1935-36, 1938) and the 1934 Swiss road championship.
