Gino Guerra was the son of Learco Guerra. While Gino’s cycling career was short, and he competed primarily as an amateur, his father had been one of the top professionals in the world. Learco Guerra was the Giro d’Italia in 1934 and was World Road Champion in 1931. He also placed second in the Tour de France in 1933. Learco Guerra had numerous other professional victories, including Milano-San Remo, Giro de Lombardia, and the Giro de Toscano.
