Luke Fleurs began his football career as an academy player for Ubuntu Cape Town in 2013 when he was 13-years-old. When Fleurs was 17 he made his professional début with the club in South Africa’s National First Division. After one season he signed with the South African Premier Division club SuperSport United, making more than 50 appearances for the side. At a national level he played for South Africa’s under-17 and under-23 teams, including three matches at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In October 2023 Fleurs signed a two-year deal with the Kaizer Chiefs. Tragically he was shot dead in April 2024 during a carjacking at a petrol station in Johannesburg. He was 24.
