Biography

In 1960 Finnish cyclist Unto Hautalahti became the national road race champion to earn himself a place on the Olympic team. Hautalahti eventually finished 59th in the road race at the Roma Games, more than five minutes behind the race winner, before retaining his Finnish road title the following year. He had further success in Finland, winning the Porvoon ajot one-day race in 1960 and 1961, along with a third national title in 1966.
