Eya Guezguez and her twin sister, Sarra Guezguez, competed in the 49er FX skiff class at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. At only 16-years-old they were the youngest sailors in the discipline at Tokyo. Sadly, on 10 April 2022, their boat overturned in a sailing accident and Eya was not able to be rescued, dying at only 17-years-old. Sarra was also on the boat but survived the accident.
