Biography

During the mid-1960s Sayed Esmail Hosseini represented Iran in international cycling events. In 1964 Hosseini was selected to compete at the Tokyo Olympics, where he placed 99th in the individual road race. Although he just managed to scrape into the top 100, he was in the main peloton of riders who were only 0.2 seconds behind the race winner. Two years later Hosseini won two bronze medals at the 1966 Asian Games in Bangkok.
