Biography

Leonard Quartly was a prominent gymnast in the London area before World War I and was also well-known for his entertaining and humorous gymnastic exhibitions. After the War he became a judge, officiating at the National Championships and Metropolitan and Southern Counties Championships on several occasions. A printer by trade, Quartly officiated in the women’s team competition at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics.
