Biography

At the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, Karl Koch belonged to the German road cycling team which could not finish the race because he was the only member of their team to cross the finish line. He was, however, classified 45th in the individual race. The same year he became German road champion. In 1930 he participated in the Tour of Germany, and in 1931 came 15th in the Paris-Roubaix Classic. By profession, he was a baker and pastry master. He was killed in action in 1944 during World War II.
