Biography

German track cyclist Sören Lausberg finished an unfortunate fourth in the 1,000 metre time trial at both the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games. He also finished seventh with the team sprint in 2000. Lausberg won six silver medals at the World Championships: 1996-97 and 2000-01 in the 1,000 metre time trial and 1996-97 with the team sprint, adding three bronze medals in the team sprint (1998-99 and 2002). Domestically, he earned seven national titles in the 1,000 metre time trial and four more in the team sprint.

After his retirement Lausberg worked with the Institut für Forschung und Entwicklung von Sportgeräten (Institute for Research and Development of Sports Devices) in Berlin as the manager for measurement and information systems.
