Paul Legrain was a sprinter. His major title came in 1901 when he won the French sprint championship for amateurs. Legrain competed at the Grand Prix de Paris several times, placing third in the amateur event in 1901. He also raced in 1900 at the World Championships in the sprint, but did not place. Legrain represented both the Union Carlovingienne and the Association vélocipédique internationale during his career.
