Swiss amateur cyclist Otto Lehner competed during the 1920s and had consistent results in races at home. In 1923 Lehner won the Tour of Genève and finished second at the Championship of Zürich. These results earned him a place on the Olympic team for the 1924 Games in Paris, finishing 14th in the individual road race and fourth in the combined team event. Following the Olympics he finished second in amateur road race at the UCI Road World Championships in Versailles, France, along with second at both the Tour du Lac Léman and the Tour of Genève.
In 1925 Lehner has his best results, winning both the Championship of Zürich and the Tour du Lac Léman, and finishing 10th at the UCI Road World Championships. He then turned professional, but never won a race, but finished second once again at the 1926 edition of the Championship of Zürich and at the 1927 Tour de Berne.
