Biography

When he was 14-years-old Ngô Thành Liêm took up cycling under the guidance of his elder brother. After training in Saigon, Ngô won the 1952 edition of the Saigon–My Tho–Saigon road race. Over the next four years he won several major races in Southern Vietnam, earning him a place on the Olympic team where he competed in the road race at the 1956 Melbourne Games. Two years later Ngô won bronze in the team road race at the Asian Games in Tokyo.
