Austrian cyclist Peter Luttenberger participated in the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics and placed 29th in the road race. Four years later at Atlanta he came 81st. Also in 1996, Luttenberger won the Tour de Suisse.
As a professional, Luttenberger rode with the Rabobank, ONCE Vini Caldirola, and CSC teams from 1996-2007. He took part in five editions of the Tour de France and placed fifth in the overall classification in 1996 as his best result. Luttenberger won the 1993 Austrian national road race title and in 1998 and 2006 was the individual road time trial champion.
