Biography

Miklós Németh started his career as a cyclist in 1929 in the colors of BSE. In 1930, he won his first Hungarian championship in the mountain category, which he repeated in 1931 and 1932. He later switched to the track. Between 1932 and 1934 he was Hungarian champion three times in the team pursuit, and in 1933 and 1935 won the sprint. Német set a national record in the sprint in 1936, which was not bettered until 1949. Between 1931 and 1936 he earned three caps.

In 1936, as a cyclist for Törekvés, Németh took part in the Berlin Olympics in team pursuit (7th), and in tandem he finished 11th alongside Ferenc Pelvássy, retiring after the Olympics. In 1948, he was a coach with the Hungarian Olympic team and later worked with the youth national team.
