Biography

Danish cyclist Christian Pedersen became the national amateur road race champion in 1943. Due to the war Pedersen was only able to compete in Denmark, but still managed to amass several wins, including two further national amateur titles in 1944 and 1945. One year later he did the double at the national championships, winning both the road race and individual time trial titles, followed by another time trial win in 1947. These consistent performances earned Pedersen a place on the Olympic team, where he finished 27th in the road race at the 1948 London Games.

After his success on the road Pedersen had similar results on the track, winning three track titles at the Nordic Games between 1949 to 1955. Back on the road he had his best year in 1953, winning another amateur road race title, finishing first overall in the Peace Race, and finishing third in the general classification of the Tour of Sweden. Pedersen rode in two more editions of the Peace Race before retiring from the sport in 1955.
