Léon Ponscarme competed in sprint cycling at the 1900 Paris Olympics, but made it only to the second round. In World War I he served with the 315e Régiment d’Infanterie. Ponscarme was killed in action during the Battle of Verdun. His parents later placed a plaque in his honor in the church of Sainte-Marie-des-Batignolles in Paris.
