Ahmed Rhaili was the Moroccan junior road race champion in 1973 and became the Maghreb champion in the time trial the following year. He became Pan-Arab champion in the road race in 1976, and followed that up with Arab championship golds in 1981 and 1984. He also rode the 1982 and 1984 Peace Race, finishing in 1984 in 72nd place. His last major international competition was the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, but he did not finish the road race. He then moved on to coaching in Saudi Arabia, first at the club level, and later with the national team. He then spent time in Libya with the Al-Madina Club before returning to Morocco to coach the national squad from 1995 through 2002.
