In 1946 René Rouffeteau placed third at Paris-Ézy, and then in 1947 placed 16th the French amateur road championship. In the Olympic year he was seventh at Paris-Rouen, prior to the Olympics. He only competed for one more year, placing third at Paris-Évreux and fifth at Paris-Rouen in 1949.
