Remo Sansonetti was a cyclist born in Italy who moved to Australia in 1971 and claimed citizenship there with his twin brother Salvatore. Remo started his career with G.S. IAG Gazoldo, winning the 1971 Italian team pursuit title in Varese with the team of the Lombardy Region alongside Pietro Algeri, Luciano Borgognoni and his brother Sal with a time of 4:31.0. In the following years Remo Sansonetti devoted himself to road races and competed at the 1976 and 1980 Olympic Games. He competed three times at the Commonwealth Games (1974-82) in the road race and team time trial.
