Sepp Schraner was the Swiss amateur road race champion in 1951 and 1952. Selected for the cycling delegation to the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki, Schraner finished in 20th place in the road race in a field of 111 competitors, and second amongst four other compatriots. He then had a brief career as a professional in 1953 before retiring from the sport.
