Anthony Sellier

During the 1970s cyclist Anthony Sellier competed on both the road and track for Trinidad and Tobago before becoming a successful coach. In 1972 Sellier was selected to ride in road and track events at the München Olympics, placing 29th in the team time trial and 20th in the team pursuit. Four years later he won bronze in the 1,000 metres time trial at the Pan American Cycling Championships in Venezuela. This earned him another place on the Olympic team, where he rode in the track time trial at the Montréal Games.

After his cycling career Sellier became a coach, most notably for Nicholas Paul, who won three medals as a junior at the 2016 Pan American Track Cycling Championships. For his work, the Trinidad and Tobago Cycling Federation named Sellier as the coach of the year. Sellier’s son Christopher was also a track cyclist who rode at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
