Biography

Born in Morteros, Córdoba in 1931, Ricardo Senn soon moved with his family to Rafaela where he took up cycling on demanding dirt tracks. After completing his military service, Senn continued to compete in cycling races, eventually making his way onto the Argentine national team. In 1955 he was part of the 4,000 metres pursuit team that won gold at the Pan American Games in Mexico City. His good form continued at the 1959 edition of the Games in Chicago, where he won gold in both the road race and the team road race, along with bronze in the 4,000 metres team pursuit. One year later Senn finished 44th in the individual road race at the Roma Olympics. In addition to his international success he was also a three-time national road race champion in Argentina, winning in 1961, 1964, and 1965.
