In 1948 Argentine cyclist Miguel Sevillano won the Clásica del Oeste-Doble Bragado stage race to earn a place on the Olympic team. At the London Games, Sevillano finished 23rd in the road race, helping Argentina to finish seventh overall in the team road race. Two years later he became the national road race champion and won the third stage of the Tour of Mexico. He continued to have consistent results over the next few years, including finishing third at the 1952 Tour of Argentina. After retiring from the sport, Sevillano worked as a commissioner for the Argentine Cycling Federation and as a technical director of the national team. In the late 1950s he had also opened his own bicycle workshop.
