Biography

Almost purely a track racer, Jacques Suire was French amateur champion in the sprint in 1962 and was on the French team pursuit champion in 1964. He turned professional in late 1968 and rode only one year as a pro, placing second in 1969 in the French sprint championship, and fifth that year at the World Championships in the sprint. His other major podium finishes included third at the 1960 Bordeaux-Arcachon, a rare road race appearance, and third in individual pursuit at the 1965 French Amateur Championships.
