John Trevorrow

Australian cyclist John Trevorrow had success early in his career when he won bronze in the road race at the 1970 British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland. Trevorrow remained in the country after the Games, where he had several podium finishes on stages at the Tour of Scotland. Two years later he placed 32nd in the road race at the München Olympics, finishing in the main peloton of riders who were just over two-and-a-half minutes behind the winner. The following year he returned to Europe to ride in the Peace Race, finishing 74th overall.

Trevorrow then found more form back in Australia, winning the Herald Sun Tour on three occasions (1975, 1977, 1979), along with three consecutive national road race titles from 1978 to 1980. After his retirement Trevorrow opened his own cycling shop in Geelong, before founding the Bay Classic Series in Victoria in 1989, with him also serving as the race director.
