From 1966 to 1973 Thor Ole Rimejorde worked as the assistant coach of the Norwegian women’s handball team, with him also working as the head coach of the men’s national team from 1970 to 1973. Rimejorde coached the men’s team at the 1972 München Olympics where the team came ninth. Following his coaching roles he worked as the head of education at the Norwegian Sports Association until 1984. Rimejorde later became involved with working with disabled athletes, serving as the head of the Norwegian delegation at several editions of the Paralympics. In 2010 he was awarded with the Sports Gala’s honorary prize.
