Cyclist Oskar Zeißner was part of the German road race team that finished fifth at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. Individually he finished eighth. He won four German road team time trial championships in 1949-50 and 1952-53), all with his compatriot Edi Ziegler. Zeißner was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf.
