Vincenzo Zucconelli was an Italian cyclist who was active during the 1950s. In 1951 Zucconelli won the Gran Premio della Liberazione one-day race in addition to setting the world hour record for amateur riders. One year later he became the national amateur champion in the road race, earning himself a place on the Olympic team. His good form continued at the Games, finishing sixth in the individual road race and winning silver in the combined team event. By 1954 Zucconelli had become a professional rider, with the biggest win of his career coming a year later when he won stage 11 of the Giro d’Italia, eventually finishing 61st overall in the general classification. The same year he also managed to finish in three of the cycling classics, crossing the line in the Milan–San Remo, Paris–Roubaix, and the Giro di Lombardia races. In 1956 Zucconelli started another edition of the Giro, wearing the coveted pink jersey on stage 2b, but was later forced to abandon the race.
