Field hockey player Egon Winter was an Austrian team member at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. The team finished ninth and last in the tournament. They lost all matches in the preliminary round, scoring only one goal, against Denmark. Wildam also played ice hockey with Wiener (Vienna) AC in winter. As a Jew, Winter fled to Australia during World War II and settled in Sydney and took the name Egon “Frosty” Miller. In Australia he became a well-known ice hockey player and later coach of Melbourne Blackhawks IHC in the 1940s.
