Roques was a fine footballer, and played for two leading Paris teams, White Rovers and Standard Athletic Club. He was a member of the Standard team that won the French Championship in 1895. In 1910, ten years after his Olympic exploits, Roques played cricket for France in a quadrangular tournament in Brussels involving The Netherlands, Belgium and the MCC.
