André Béhotéguy was a top all-around athlete who won a silver medal in rugby football at the 1924 Paris Olympics. In rugby he competed for Aviron Bayonnais from 1919-24 and then for US Cognaçaise from 1924-29. He earned 19 caps for France, all as a centre. With Bayonnais he played in the finals of the French Championships in 1922 and 1923. In athletics Béhotéguy competed in the long jump, notably in a 1926 international against Germany and Switzerland. He also competed in rowing, possibly winning a French title. His career was building large corkscrews although in later years he ran a flower shop in Nice.
