Alexander Kidd was a member of the Liverpool City Police tug-of-war team at the 1908 Olympics. In their opening match against the United States, the Americans objected to the Liverpool team’s footwear after losing the first pull. The objection was overruled and they promptly retired from the competition. Kidd and his teammates then beat Sweden, but lost to the City of London Police in the final. Nothing else is known about Kidd.
DOD seen as 24 October 1921, but the person who died on that date in Liverpool was only 26 years old.
