Only one noteworthy result of Rudolf Bertrand’s tennis career in the singles has been conveyed. In 1912 Bertrand won the men’s singles in the tennis tournament in the German city of Bielefeld. More often he played in the mixed doubles together with varying female partners. In June 1903, he played in the mixed doubles of the Championships of Vienna with Marie Amende, who was probably his sister. Her maiden name was Bertrand and she was a successful tennis player herself.
