Based at Plaistow, constable James Woodget pulled for the Sub-Division Metropolitan Police tug-of-war team. Plaistow contested the final of the 1905 London Police Sports, but were beaten by the London City police team, who went on to win the 1908 Olympic gold medal. Woodget represented K Division of the Metropolitan Police team at the Games, and won a bronze medal. Constable Woodget retired from Whitehall (A Division) in 1921.
