Carola Hoffmann and the West German field hockey team were fifth at the 1988 Seoul Games after a 4-2 win against Canada in the classification round. In 1986 she won the silver medal at the World Championships and won 70 international caps between 1985-89. Domestically, Hoffmann played with Eintracht Braunschweig and HTC Stuttgarter Kickers. She became a high school officer in Stuttgart, teaching mathematics and sports.
