Biography

Gurdev Singh Kullar won a gold medal in hockey (field) with India at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. He also won two silver medals at the Asian Games, in 1958 and 1962. Singh Kullar was an inside right who played for Punjab Police and Punjab from 1956-67, helping them win the 1966 Beighton Cup when he scored the winning goal against Signals.

Singh Kullar helped Punjab Police win the All-India Police Games in 1956, 1959, 1961, 1962, 1964, and 1966. He won National Titles with Punjab in 1962 and 1965. He retired from international hockey in 1962 and emigrated to Great Britain in 1967, where he played with Airedale Hockey Club and Bingley Hockey Club in Leeds.
