Philip Sankey was a halfback who played for Malaya at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic hockey tournament. He played for Perak starting in 1947 and later captained North Malaya, playing for them from 1949-54. Sankey captained the North Malayan XI against India in 1954 and Pakistan in 1955. He was honorary secretary of the Perak Hockey Association. Sankey was educated at the Anglo-Chinese School in Ipoh.
