Originally playing for his hometown club MHCC Hengelo, as a law student Imbert Jebbink moved to Utrecht. There he joined SV Kampong during its glory days. With the side, he won four Dutch titles in five years (1972-74, 1976). It wasn’t until 1976 that Jebbink was called up for the Dutch team, joining the squad for the Montreal Olympics. The Dutch lost to the surprising New Zealand team in the semi-finals, and then lost the match for bronze against Pakistan. Pakistan was again the opponent in Jebbink’s final international match - the 1978 World Cup final - once again won by the Pakistani. Following his retirement as an active player, Jebbink remained involved with Kampong, eventually becoming club president. He was also a member of various committees at the Dutch National Hockey Federation. Outside of hockey, Jebbink worked as a lawyer.
