Biography

Murray Loudon was a New Zealand field hockey player who represented his country between 1954 and 1956. Loudon was part of the squad that travelled to Australia for the 1956 Melbourne Olympics where he played in three matches. As a student he studied at the University of Otago, graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He had a long and successful career in the industry that saw him being appointed as a Member of the Order of the British Empire for his services to the dental profession in the 1991 New Years Honours. Loudon also wrote an autobiography called Filling the Gaps – A Loudon Family History.
