George Klein was a Romanian composer who wrote mainly songs and music for entertaining stage plays such as Dream of Happiness. The submitted song Cântec sportiv pentru pace (Sports song for peace) was set to music in 1952 with lyrics by Romanian poet Mihu Dragomir (1919-64). Klein’s son Emil (1955-2004) became a well-known cellist and conductor.
