Biography

Qazi Massarrat Hussain studied at the Government College Lahore and Punjab University, playing field hockey at both institutes. Hussain then moved to Karachi where he joined the hockey team at Pakistan Customs. He was selected to represent the national team at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, playing in the group match against Belgium and the final against India, with Pakistan taking home the silver medal. Hussain took part in a training camp ahead of the 1960 Roma Olympics but suffered a knee injury that ultimately led the end of his career. He continued to work at Pakistan Customs in their revenue department until his retirement in 1995.
