Karl Vogt played for HC Olten for much of the mid to late 1940s. In 1948, he was one of five club members selected for the Swiss Olympic team to compete in London. There, the squad finished in fifth place, with one win and two ties. After the Olympics, Vogt continued to play hockey in Olten until he lost an eye in an explosives-related injury in 1952, forcing him to retire. He continued to be involved in field hockey coaching and administration through to the 1960s and 1970s.
