Éva Kun began fencing in 1933 with MTK. She placed third at the 1938 Hungarian Championships, but was later barred from competition due to her Jewish origin. After World War II Kun returned to competition with Budapesti Barátság. In 1947 she again placed third nationally, then in 1948 came second individually and first with the team. That year she won silver at the World Championships as part of the Hungarian women’s foil team and competed at the London Olympics (unplaced individually). Kun sought political asylum in London and emigrated to Canada in 1953 where she continued to fence and help organize competitions. She was a member of the Hungarian National Sports Federation’s émigré delegation.
