Biography

Romeo Frigo was born in Italy in 1946 and represented the Swiss national archery team from the mid-1970s. Frigo competed at his first world championships in 1977, finishing 17th, before winning back-to-back national titles in 1978 and 1979. In 1978 he was living in South Tyrol in northern Italy and still had Italian citizenship before becoming a Swiss citizen ahead of the 1980 Moskva Olympics. Frigo then competed for Switzerland at the Moskva Games, finishing 18th in the individual competition. After the Olympics he competed at three more editions of the world championships and participated in domestic competitions up to the late-1990s. Frigo set multiple Swiss archery records during his career, with five of them standing at the time of his death.
