André Corvington was born in Haiti but later studied medicine in Paris. After marrying Marguerite Louise Chamerois they resided in Paris with her father. Corvington joined the 141e Régiment d’Infanterie where he was mobilized in August 1914 and assigned to the 3 / 55 military field hospital. The details of his death are not known but they occurred just after the end of the war. He was posthumously made a Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur.
Although Corvington was likely a Haitian national in 1900, he entered the Olympic fencing competition as a Frenchman, likely representing Salles d’Armes du Palais et Sociétés Savantes in Paris.
